Pioneering Japanese-German-American media artist Tamiko Thiel has an AI supercomputer in the collection of MoMA NY and an augmented reality artwork in the collection of the Whitney Museum NY.

Her virtual reality artwork in the San Jose Museum of Art in Silicon Valley was acquired in 2002 as one of the first VR artworks ever collected by a US art museum. Her politically engaged and socially critical artworks explore the inter- section of space, place and cultural memory.
